Coal City Cob
Co., Inc.
At the personal invitation
of Mike Cloonen, president, I was honored to represent Midlothian by attending
the Grand Opening of Coal City Cob Company, Inc., in Waxahachie.
History:
Adrian Cloonen founded Coal
City Cob Company in 1970 in Coal City, Illinois. Adrian began hauling corncobs
to various processors throughout the Midwest where the processors would grind up
the corncobs and use the grindings for carriers of pesticides.
In 1987, Michael Cloonen joined
Adrian and moved south to open the Texas terminal in Avalon, which is located
about 50 miles south of Dallas.
Since 1987 Michael has built the company on quality equipment and quality
service and due to the company's inventory of specialized equipment Coal City
Cob is considered one of the most diverse carriers in the Bulk Liquid industry.
